What the man in the street doesn’t realise is that Dealers have a hell of a problem licensing new cars. The Department limits us to one new car per day ( I kid you not) and the urgent ones ( where you cannot get temp plates for some or other reason) get shoved to the front of the queue. If you have more than one car to licence, then the papers are stacked at the department, and they attend to them when they feel like it…..

I finally licensed a car yesterday on the last day of its 21 day permit, simply because we had been buggered about by the department – so it’s not always the dealership or salesman’s fault.
