Ukhamba Pottery
The project is situated in Sinqobile Section B in Daggakraal. It began in May 2008 and it was identified by the NMRW in 2016. The project has seven, self-taught members who produce clay pots (ukhamba) of different size, designs and colours. One member moulds at least four or five pots depending on the size. In a month, they are able to mould a minimum of 200 to 300 pots. To produce a completed pot takes one month. The pots are sold to the local community and retailers who come and purchase at the project site. In 2017, since the NMRW’s intervention, the project purchased a new site.
