Izimbokodo Bakery
Izimbokodo Bakery Cooperative is situated in Merry Pebble Stream. The project started in 2012 with all the member baking individually to sell at schools. They then decided to form a group and sell their scones, muffins, biscuits and cakes at schools and community members in the area. The NMRW identified the project in September 2018, with five all women members baking from the chairperson’s house. Since the NMRW’s intervention, the project has been able to acquire their own site, register as a cooperative and start building up their savings.
